Financial Assistance
Bed & Breakfast Program
If you or a family member needs to travel outside our community for cancer treatment and need financial assistance, we may be able to help. Funds are available to help with gas and lodging. Patients may request assistance as often as needed. There is no income guideline. Call 945-0827 for more information.
Lodging Guides
If you are traveling out of town for medical treatments, we have lodging guides available that list hotels that offer medical discounts. Lodging Guides are available for the following cities:

Alzheimer's Support Group
Meets 2nd Thursday of the month at the Maryhouse Conference room 717 E. Dakota, Pierre, SD.For more information call Vicky Tipton - 224-3435.
Grief in the Workplace
The following programs are available for your business or community organization:
Level 1-Introduction to Grief
Dealing with loss in your life-from the small daily issues to the major losses
through death and divorce.
Level 2-Providing support to a co-worker who has experienced loss. Helpful things to
say and do.
Level 3-The business impact of grief and loss in the workplace.
This program is for managers.
Programs are available in our classroom or at your place of business or meeting spot. For more information call Holly at 945-0827.
New Grief
New Grief is a one-time session designed for anyone who has experienced the death of a friend or loved one within the last 3-6 months. Or anyone whose loss suddenly feels "fresh". The format is educational and supportive and provides a private place to share your story.
Breast Cancer Survivors Group
This group is a mix of breast cancer survivors who have been newly diagnosed, are currently receiving treatment or are many years past diagnosis. It is an excellent place to receive information and support. The group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday at Noon.
Cancer Support Group
This group is open to anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis. The format is informal with time for discussion and sharing of resources. Topics range from symptom management to the emotional impact of living with cancer. Group meets once a month.
Prostate Cancer Support Group
This support group is offered for anyone who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. We invite you to come and share your story, ask questions or just listen. Dr. Wyatt will be there to answer questions regarding prostate cancer. Spouses are welcome. Meetings will be held the 3rd Monday of the month at Countryside Hospice. One on One
If a group setting is not comfortable for you perhaps a one on one meeting with a member of our staff would be better. One on one meetings are available for cancer patients and family members and individuals who have experienced the death of a loved one. If you would like to schedule a one on one meeting please call 945-0827.
