Countryside Hospice, Inc is a 501 c 3 non-profit agency established in 1980, which serves the Pierre/Fort Pierre area by providing:
  • Funding for hospice and palliative care services
  • Education and support for cancer patients and their families
  • Support groups for cancer patients
  • Travel funds for cancer patients who must leave our community for treatment (Bed and Breakfast program)
  • Bereavement support for adults
  • Support and education for patients with Alzheimer's and their caregivers
  • Professional and community education in the areas of cancer care, communication skills, grief in the workplace, grief and loss and end of life care
  • Information about Advance Directives including Durable Power of Attorney for healthcare andliving wills
Funding comes from memberships, memorials, donations, fund-raising events and proceeds from the hospice thrift store. All funding stays in our community to provide services and all support groups /patient information is provided at no charge.
 

Volunteers have always been the foundation of Countryside Hospice. Through the years, hundreds of volunteers have made hospice care possible - a grassroots effort that is firmly established in our community.

There is basic information about hospice and palliative care and links for additional information.
